【药理毒理】 本品为选择性组胺H1受体反相激动剂和血小板激活因子(PAF)拮抗剂。在动物试验中,本品显示出很强的组胺H1受体拮抗作用和PAF受体阻断作用;对肥大细胞脱颗粒、中性粒细胞和嗜酸细胞移动以及细胞因子释放均具有抑制作用。

Description

This medicine antagonizes not only histamine H1 receptors, but also platelet activating factor (PAF) receptors, which are involved in inflammation, to suppress skin and nasal allergic symptoms.
It is usually used to treat allergic rhinitis, hives and itch associated with skin diseases (eczema/dermatitis, cutaneous pruritus).

Effect/Efficacy

This medicine antagonizes not only histamine H1 receptors, but also platelet activating factor (PAF) receptors, which are involved in inflammation, to suppress skin and nasal allergic symptoms.
It is usually used to treat allergic rhinitis, hives and itch associated with skin diseases (eczema/dermatitis, cutaneous pruritus).

Usage/Dosage

In general, for adults and children aged 12 years or over, take 1 tablet (10 mg of rupatadine) at a time, once a day. The dosage may be increased up to 2 tablets (20 mg) at a time according to the symptoms. Strictly follow the instructions.
If you miss a dose, take the missed dose as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed dose and follow your regular dosing schedule. You should never take two doses at one time.
If you accidentally take more than your prescribed dose, consult with your doctor or pharmacist.
Do not stop taking this medicine unless your doctor instructs you to do so.

Cautions

If you have previously experienced any allergic reactions (itch, rash, etc.) to any medicines.
If you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
If you are taking any other medicinal products. (Some medicines may interact to enhance or diminish medicinal effects. Beware of over-the-counter medicines and dietary supplements as well as other prescription medicines.)

For treatment of pollinosis, you need to take the medicine every day until the pollen season ends.
The medicine may cause sleepiness. Avoid operating dangerous machinery, such as driving a car.
Pay attention that grapefruit juice may intensify medicinal or medical effects.
Pay attention that alcohol may affect the effect of this medicine.

Keep out of reach of children. Store away from direct sunlight, heat and moisture.
Discard the remainder. Do not store them.

Contraindication

The most commonly reported adverse reactions include sleepiness, dry mouth and malaise. If any of these symptoms occur, consult with your doctor or pharmacist.
The symptoms described below are rarely seen as initial symptoms of the adverse reactions indicated in brackets. If any of these symptoms occur, stop taking this medicine and see your doctor immediately.
bluish to dark purple skin or mucosa (in particular, lips and fingernails/toenails), breathing difficulty, dizziness on standing up [shock, anaphylaxis]
(if you have a history of epileptic seizures) muscle stiffness or tremor, consciousness disorder, loss of memory before seizures [epilepsy]
sudden muscle contraction [convulsion]
malaise, loss of appetite, yellowing of the skin and the white of eyes [liver dysfunction, jaundice]
